You probably heard about the W.U.T.S. weekend this August, well here is a good example of what the skies were like up there. It was taken by a soon to be member of the NCAS Greg Halac, here are his details of the photo.Camera: Minolta SRT-101, 55mm f/1.7 (~30+ years old)
Mount: Bungee cord attached to clock-driven 8" Celestron SCT equatorial fork
Exposure: ~5 min (guess based on Sky & Telescope gallery info)
Date/Time: 10-Aug-02, ~10:30pm
Kodak Max 800 ASA color print film, standard developing
Negative scanned with Nikon Coolscan IV film scanner
